The Micha Schellhaas Trio is a power fusion ensemble playing a dynamic mix of jazz, blues, and rock, showcasing Micha’s deep compositional skills and masterful touch on the guitar.
This energetic and virtuosic power trio will be playing compositions off Micha’s EP “Wings of Fire” and his debut album “Double Take” both of which were produced by the legendary Carl Verheyen. The compositions are a diverse, and eclectic mix of guitar driven melodic blues and jazz fusion venturing into rock that will entertain and thrill fans of all three genres.
Micha, who holds a masters degree from the esteemed Dutch ARTEZ conservatory is backed up by two young musicians both of whom are Berklee grads. Elin Sandberg on the bass and Johannes Gritschacher playing drums.
Elin Sandberg is a 22-year-old bass player from Sweden. After graduating from the highly respected music high school “Södra Latins Gymnasium” in Stockholm, Sweden in 2012, she came to Boston to start her undergraduate studies at the world–renowned Berklee College of Music on a full tuition scholarship. Playing both the electric and upright bass, Elin has recorded with the multi Grammy award winning drummer Terri Lyne Carrington, Antonio Serrano and many other world famous musicians. Elin has performed at several different festivals both in and outside the US, most recently at the Mawazine festival in Morocco as an opener for Maroon 5 in front of an audience of 200 000 people. Elin Sandberg is an endorsed artist for EBS amps and strings.
Johannes Gritschacher is an up-and-coming drummer hailing from Austria. At just 21 he has played in a variety of styles including Pop, Jazz and Fusion. He racked up an impressive list of awards and performance experiences in his home country before moving to Boston after his acceptance to the renowned Berklee College of Music where he graduated with a major in Drum Performance and completed his third year in Contemporary Writing and Production studies. In January 2016 Johannes moved to Los Angeles, where he works now as a full-time musician. He’s constantly striving to grow as a musician and has had guidance from teachers such as Hal Crook, George Garzone, Kim Plainfield, Ian Froman, Terri Lyne Carrington, Casey Scheuerell and Billy Kilson.
